Parking lot notes

( The expression above refers to information shared after formal meetings, where people actually speak their mind openly, usually on their way home, in the parking lot. so, this is just an aside, really useful for my peace of mind.)

I injured my rotator cuff, and I am not able to do much writing, or thinking for that matter. It's amazing how often we take our appendiges for granted. WE actually need every one of our parts, to help other parts do their job. I couldn't even open the meds's bottle with one hand, or do other things. Try it, and let me know what you can accomplish. This posting, for instance, could not have been accomplished last weekend when the injury occurred. It had to wait for two days before I could get meds. (We live in an isolated village, no 24hrs pharmacies or clinics, the beauty of isolation has its dark side.)

I'm in fog. So, anything I say is suspect.

However, on the bright side:: no cooking, no dishes, no laundry, no picking up, not even driving. I watch television. Does that count?

Sorry, if I don't connect with the good folks out there.

Oh darling friend. That is so painful.

Now I want you to treat yourself like a queen. Can you do that?

Kisses and hugs. xoxoxo

Love Renee

You poor thing! Your pain is greatly empathized with. There's nothing like an injury to make us realize how important each little piece and part of us is!

Please take good care and do as the doctor tells you. Warm wishes are being sent your way for a speedy recovery.

Poor you, LV, so sorry to hear that - Don't try to carry on regardless thereby incurring added pain (been there, done that!).

Take care, rest up, and fond wishes for a speedy return to speedy normal you! x

Oh gosh, SixtyFiveWhatNow (p.s. like the name of your blog) - sorry to hear of your injury! I know how that feels. It's pretty horrible to not even be able to lift your arm. Hope you heal quickly! Rest up and watch lots of Heroes and/or Lost for me! :) Wait, should I admit to liking those?

I love that expression “parking lot notes.” I’ve done that in Maine. Growing up in NYC we stood on street corner where we had to split and talked for ages.

I hope your injury heals soon – how frustrating! Good for you for thinking on the bright side. Maybe a good time to catch up on reading?

Cos'è un rotator cuff? Qualsiasi cosa sia, spero il dolore che ti provoca passi velocemente.
TV is ok, unless you overdo the remote control.
Un abbraccio terapeutico, ciao cara and get well soon.

Hi,

I've been queueing here waiting to add a comment! Thanks for visiting my blog. Actually, the point I was making wasn't about people gossiping in shops (nothing wrong with that) but that this particular aged gent didn't care about anyone except himself: the person I felt sorry for was the patient woman serving him.

Hope your injury heals soon.

You go ahead and watch as much TV as you need. Hope everything settles down soon.

You were missed at writers group. And, no writing? NO WRITING? Do you need somebody to come take dictation? My shorthand is very rusty but....

Oh, it feels so good to hear from all of you.

Renee- Love the kisses and hugs, and feeling like a queen. I could get used to that. You are dear to my heart, a sister across the continent, with a heart and soul greater than all of Canada. I surely wish we could meet in person some day. Love and kisses back.

Amy-thanks for the warm wishes. We had heavy storms coming this way, on the way to the East coast, where they buried the Atlantic coast, but they kept us awake here, with huffing and puffing and blowing trees and houses down. Not really. But the sounds felt awful, on top of the pain every time I was getting up to use the restroom.

AWONI-Good advice, returning to the old me. That is such a good wish, really appreciated.

Natalie-When I was your age and with only one infant at a time in the house,I did nothing for myself. And I regretted that. Do-Do-D0 something for you. Thanks for stopping by to wish me a speedy recovery.

Cheryl- I miss reading and catching up with everyone-and I too miss people if I don't see their blog. Thanks for your sweet thoughts. They do brighten my days. It's good to be missed!

Linds- I will take your advice to heart-willingly. After all, my blog friends are not twenty-somethings, (my apologies to the sweet things that drop in to visit me, but, when it comes to pain, it is safe to assume, they may not know much pain.) Thanks for the visit. How are you faring with everything going on in your world?

LMN- Thanks for stopping by. Yes, catching up on Heroes and Lost, good stuff for whatever. I'm a softy for old movies. Fortunately for us, my satellite provider has many HBO channels, as well as foreign channels. I always wanted to catch up on my Italian and FRench news, style and soap operas. That counts for culture and arts, No?

Sarah Lawrence- Lovely to see you. Your site has become my new stomping grounds.

An English Sheperd- Let this be a warning to you too. Don't take your agility and health for granted. Cute and beautiful are not enough for happiness.

Lola- un rotator cuff `e la giuntura della spalla al braccio,a very bad place for injuries. Mine was an old one, when I had a sexy life, playing tennis, running around the courts with cute outfits. It's an old injury that flared up, inflamed. My doctor does not know. So, he's sending me to MRI and physical therapy. I will probably have to maintain more skills. Thanks for stopping by.

Dumdad- I love your blog-your queing up, so English. The posts are wonderful cultural encounters, for all of us to appreciate time and time again. By the way, anything I write during this season of medicated bliss, is to be consided suspect. Except for compliments. Compliments come from another place.

Mary- I love hearing about your part of the world, the political part, the weather woes, the educational stories. What a gift you are to us all. Thanks for the get-well wishes.

M-I'm glad to be missed. But, what I hear is that the group is now grown out of bounds. What are the chances any of us get to read outloud again? You know that Weld is organizing a once a month reading/open mike in Port Orford? It would be nice to have friends in the audience.

So sorry to hear about your injury.Nothing wrong with watching 'the box' until you heal - better that than risk injuring your healing hand.

That sounds awful! I was in an amazing amount of pain for a tiny little calcium deposit in my shoulder last summer. I can empathise! Hope you get better asap!

How are you doing today Queen Bee.

Love Renee from the land of cold and not living the myth at all.

French Fancy- Thanks for stopping by to wish me well. I get better after each morsel of good sensation sent my way. One can get used to this.

Seretta- It's wonderful to have a connection in the world just a few miles from where I grew up. Each time you talk about food and customs around Molfetta, I get homesick. Thanks for stopping by.

Renee- I so appreciate your concern and caring thoughts sent my way. I'm doing better; less pain, more sleep, lots of sympathy coming my way. Even hubby has changed his tune, a very good thing, by the way.

How is it going with you?

FYI I saw your comment on my other blog "Portrait of Words" I've got two separate blogs. That's probably why you didn't recognize how I found your site.

Poor gal, I know I`m a litle late (being the 27th commentator), but I need to tell you that I want you to heal soon!! If I make a stern face and stomp my foot, does that make the Healing Fairy hurry up?
Tv is getting on my nerves so quickly, so please tell me if you want me to send you some books?? Do you know the Miss Julia series (by Ann B. Ross) of a Southern Lady our age having the most hilarious adventures?

Tessa said...

My first visit to you (via bloggie friends), and there you are - all injured! Oh, and Ouch! I do hope you get better very soon and Sarah is right..it could be a great time to catch up on reading. Curling up in a nice comfy chair and getting lost in a good book is often the best possible medicine.
