At the end of a decade...

In about a month I will celebrate my 75th birthday.
For the last ten years I have shared regularly, entertained some difficult themes, grappled with difficult situations, and pondered the major issues of our times.

I am now tired.

Not of blogging.
Not of grappling with difficult situations and try to make sense of them.

I am tired of BLOGGER changing FORMATS REGULARLY!
I am tired of readjusting my zoom too.
At this point in time, after ten years, I'm happy to report that my glasses and Google settings have had to be adjusted many times.
I am tired of adjusting both.

Most of all, though, I'm sure other people who started blogging at the same time, like Angela from Germany, for instance, are now communicating directly through other venues.
Yes, Facebook and Twitter, and...have replaced this medium. For a while I kept expanding my blogging themes, and forming new blogs. I will close them all six or seven of them, though some have been dormant for a while already.
I've loved every minute, every blog I wrote, every blog I read.

I thank my regular readers, and those who dropped in now and then. Your comments were appreciated and cherished.
It's time to move on.

happy seventy-fifth, dear friend.

ten years. imagine that. lives have changed. certainly the times have. and as you point out, the venues. wherever you are, know love and growth. we have certainly loved and grown here.

Happy 75th and may you have many, many more. Life does seem to fly and the cliche' that it's short is really a true statement. Good luck to you in whatever medium you choose to write. I've enjoyed your wisdom and openness, not to mention your frankness on many topics relating to retirement. I think you're an amazing woman who has grasped life and moved with the times and dealt with the sadness and pain of circumstances with courage and grace. Bless you and I hope you won't mind if I say "friend"..even though we've never met I feel like I have a friend in you. Take care and have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

first have a wonderful day. 75 is a good number, may you rise like my granny who lasted 30 beyond that memorable day in health and happiness.

Please just let the blog, this one anyway, go silent not erased. One day you may feel like dropping a few words on us. But then I say do what you're comfortable doing I see you often on FB anyway.

I wish you a Happy Birthday and many new adventures to explore. Everything changes and it is not always easy to keep readjusting. I hate when I see Blogger improving (?), but I guess they have to give their young programmers something to do.

Me too - another Capricorn - a month yesterday ... I shall switch up an age. I haven't had any problems re blogger and sizing - but then I never adjusted anything ... so I'm bemused by this. The tiredness I can understand .. and with lots of other things on the go - that too ... but if you really feel the need to go - then I shall miss you ... I don't do much FB, or Tw --- I do love the blog aspect though ...

Take care and all the best for the coming years and happy times ahead .. cheers Hilary

Happy birthday dear Rosaria! You must be one of the original bloggers out there - I started mine in 2010 and even though I still post it does feel like a lot of folks have moved on to other formats for expressing themselves. Will keep mine for now as I still enjoy it, but I will miss your thoughtful and moving words. Please check in from time to time and stay well. Sending lots of love and wishes for a very happy holidays and New Year. xoxoxoxo

Thanks, everyone. Though I am hanging my pen on this site, I am still around, and will drop in now and then and whenever I have something that is burning in me.

I just popped in after you commented on my blog to check out yours. Yours makes me wonder what blogging will be like in the next 10 years...or what will be the new thing then. I hope you enjoy exploring other venues and outlets for your thoughts and photos, and I also hope you have a very happy 75th birthday.
Thanks for visiting my blog.

I became tired of Blogger too and set up my own website, with the help of my techy son. The blogging community isn't what it used to be and I agree with all you say - but if I've written a post I want to share, I link to it on Facebook. Still don't get comments as I used to. But then, a number of my dearest real life friends are those whom I met through my blog and it's where I met my new husband too. So I feel immense affection for it and no inclination to stop. But many have and I can quite see why. It's been lovely knowing you, warmest good wishes to you and I hope you have a lovely birthday.

Rosaria, you are a gem. I never would have met you without blogger. I have treasured your insight that you have shared with us your loyal readers. I have been such a poor blogger that I have also considered hanging up my blogging pen, but I'm not quite there yet. What a decade you have had. I will miss your blog post, but I will enjoy seeing you on facebook. Blessings, my dear friend. I wish you only the very best.

Best wishes for a great birthday. Ten years already – it does sound like a long time but it goes by very quickly. I enjoy reading your posts, always thought provoking, and the comments you write on my blog. I shall miss you and hope that you’ll keep one blog open so you can come once in a while to tell us how you are.

It is hard for me to keep up with my blog because of being my husband’s caregiver 24/7 with no help and no support and also trying to clear out 40 years of accumulation in our house to move, but I try to write one or two posts a month. It is very isolating here with him as he cannot really converse anymore because he is in the middle stages of his Alzheimer’s, so I don’t have anyone to talk with. My blog is like a respite from the care and I feel like I am with friends, if not I really would be all alone, as I can’t go out by myself anymore. Today he called me “hey!” so I asked him if he knew my name and he said he could not recall. I asked him if he even knew who I was and he did not know. When I suggested that I was a maid since I was cooking then he said ‘Yes, that’s it” I was mad but also very sad. So then I can come to my computer and read blogs and I forget to be sad. He does not know we are in winter so I won’t do any Christmas decorations or do anything special, maybe make some pizzelle. I did write a post about Christmas and placed some of my old postcards, so that put me in the spirit. I hope you have a merry Christmas and that 2017 is everything you wish it to be.

Awww being a less than regular blog visitor, I did not know this. I'm sorry to see you leave the blogging scene but I'm one of the lucky ones who gets to see you occasionally in one of those other venues. I believe I wished you a happy birthday there but didn't realize it was a milestone year. That's great cause to celebrate. I hope you had a wonderful day. <3

I'm really sorry you're leaving. I have always enjoyed your posts, even the sad ones. You have that special voice, the one that is rare to find and precious to keep. Thank you for your virtual friendship.

Greetings from London.

I left blogging for several years and came back :). Maybe you will, too? I hope life is treating you well!

I have treasured your blog. It gave me a lot of strength to face my life when I turned 65 nearly two years ago. I will always appreciate what you shared here.

I've hardly blogged for two years, but so want to begin again. It is a port in the storm that Facebook and certainly Twitter are not for me!

Much love to you.
