More Oregon beaches on a calm day: Bandon
Bandon is the town north of us, about twenty-three miles up Pacific Coast Highway. We do this trip whenever possible, to walk on the beach, admire beautiful homes on the bluff, and end up having a fish meal at Tony's Crab Shack whenever we can sit outdoors.
Just north is Bandon Dunes Resort, with these views greeting the lucky golfers.
We don't golf. Yet. We are tempted. Especially on such a glorious day.
This is another typical day after a heavy storm that dropped inches of rain, and deposited driftwood all over the place. The sunshine was enough to coax us outdoors.
It will be weeks before I can return to these beaches.

I absolutely love your photos...especially the first one and last two. How soothing! I think I need a holiday! (wink wink) :)
The beaches of Oregon are indeed beautiful! We were there last month.
great snaps. a walk on the beach sounds great...followed by a trip to the crab shack!
Wow, Wow, Wow, Wow, Wow and Wow for each of the photos. Incredible photos.
The Oregon beaches are stunning! The water is freezing! I have a vacation photo of the coast line that hangs proudly on my wall.
Nice photos-what a nice photo journey to the beach. Thanks for sharing.
I have a plan .... when winter ends and spring arrives, I am going to explore your part of Oregon!
Such a beautiful place to live.....If I ever get to the U.S., I am heading straight there.
Gosh, we'd have to drive hours and hours to get to a beach. You just can't beat the view and the sound of the waves and birds. Lucky you!
Thanks for sharing!
How beautifully you've captured your area! It's like taking a trip and never leaving the house!

Oregon has great beaches, and these are good photos. I really like the third and fifth ones. It's hard to beat sand, rocks, and sea!
I'm jealous of the driftwood. I use it and stones polished by the sea along with copper wire and beads to create what I call "earrings for the garden"--although many of them wind up on my wall.
I want to have a picnic with you on that bench and table.
Love, Chris
How beautiful. It makes me miss summer.. regardless of temperatures. Thanks for sharing this beachy goodness. :)
Beautiful beaches and sea rocks. Thank you.
Great! The sunshine looks heavenly!
Beautiful shots!
Must. Go. To. Oregon. Beaches!!!!
oh, that is a beautiful place!!! thanks for allowing me a glimpse.
How wonderful that you had that break in the weather to enjoy the beautiful scenery. At least you'll have these memories to come back to till you can really come back.
I love Bandon and the beaches. We, too, are tempted by golf. We don't play, but we live right across from one - it does look like fun.
it is easy enough to see why this place appeals and decent meal after the walk is simply the cherry on top of a good day.
Lovely place to go. I wish I was there!

Lovely photos ... and peaceful, serene settings (I suppose until a storm blows in). You live in a wonderfully rugged natural setting. thanks for sharing ...
Such an enchanting place! Beaches are beautiful, wherever they are.
Soak it up, Rosaria.....
Great captures, where beach meets ocean - very spiritual refreshing.
So beautiful and peaceful!:-)
Oregon looks like a beautiful place to explore....another one for the wish list, xv.
I can never get enough of your beach photos with those interesting rock formations. Beautiful!
My rich uncle owns beach front property by the PGA golf course in Bandon. I keep meaning to visit his house. These pictures remind me why! My brother said we will go in the spring, I'm so looking forward to visiting him. You live in paradise, cold water or not.
Simply stunning!!! No wonder you are tempted to golf!! Sounds like a fabulous day!!! It produced some spectacular photos...that's for sure!! ~Janine XO
There was a sense of isolation in those photos. As if everybody vacated the premises and left it all to you. What a lovely gesture! I only have to see the pictures to inhale the atmosphere. Thanks for a wonderul memory.
Beautiful beach scenes. When we lived on Medhia Beach, Morocc-, the Atlantic Ocean was smooth rarely. I surely seen it stormy too, can be frightening.
oh my, that beach is gorgeous and so different looking than the beaches here in the east. I keep saying I want to move to Oregon, and I don't think I'm kidding. (Golf is tempting, but don't let it fool you -it's a strange, time consuming hobby and there are much better things to do in the great outdoors :)
Beautiful photos and scenery and homes on the bluff! And I would love to join you, one day, for a little lunch at Tony's Crab Shack! Yum!
Love that shot of the water between the rocks - low tide? Excellent.
Stunning scenery, lovely to see. Here we have people being evacuated from homes due to floods caused by rivers bursting their banks - your pictures in comparison look so calm!
What lovely calm sea! Its really blowy over here at the moment!
Wizz :-)
What beautiful photos. Nothing like walking on the beach...
Enjoyed reading about the Time Bank idea, and your newfound status as a gourmet chef!
Lovely spot, obviously. I used to caddy for my dad (a professional golfer). The links (sea-side courses) were always very special. Played differently and enjoyed differently.
Give in to your temptation, you'll not regret it.
I do not golf either but seeing the right outdoor areas almost has me considering it in the same way. These photos are perfect you almost feel yourself walking on the beach there.
I've just spent a delicious and nutritious hour reading your blog, skipping to parts unknown to me. I'm most touched by Life Behind the Curtains and thank you for the truths you've spoken so eloquently. I'm going right next door to tend my neighbor who spoke to me yesterday on the street about her sad state of affairs. Wish me luck.
Beautiful photos. The Pacific Coast Highway is one of my favorite drives.
What a beautiful place - so natural and unspoilt - sigh, lovely!
JUST BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stunning beaches and judging by the weather the winter hasn't hit you yet.
I always wanted to live by the sea. I remembered that looking at your photos. Thanks!
Mesmerizing.. I could spend days.. months there!
So beautiful and serene - it reminds me of a week I spent with my sister at Yachatz. Thanks for a moment of calm before the storm of this week!
Such beautiful photos. I am having such a busy day, these were a welcome respite.
ah you make me want to hop there ! so peaceful, beautiful...
hope you'll get the chance to go there soon !
i never heard of time banks...at least not here in Spain. This is indeed fabulous ! and yes...hourray for your cooking skills...!!
please tell us more...

Discovered your blog through a comment you left - what a treat! I have family in Oregon and have been to this beach several times. It's lovely to see it again - marvelous photos!

Wonderful blog! Do you have any helpful hints for aspiring writers?
I'm planning to start my own blog soon but I'm a little lost on everything.
Would you propose starting with a free platform like Wordpress or go for
a paid option? There are so many options out there that I'm totally overwhelmed .. Any recommendations? Thank you!
