A New Day... Over the Rainbow...Just one of those things...Swing low...Up a lazy river....Young Republicans... Reasons... I want to thank Karen from Border Town Notes for awarding me the Superior Scribbler Award. Now, I'm trying to download, import the actual award, so I can display it proudly. I will keep on trying for the rest of the day.

In the meantime, thank you all of you who stopped and commiserated with me regarding blogging rules. I appreciated your support. But, as one commentator stated so succinctly, if you say something worth while, people will stop.

I have nothing to add today. Your time is precious on a weekend. Get out, if you can, take in a movie. We, hubby and I will go grocery shopping. I'll sit in the car while he shuffles around the market with my list. My bursitis is getting better; but, I do not want to take a chance tiring myself out.

Have a good weekend. I'll return Monday with a list of topics for the week, including the Tuesday post on Educational issues. (Have you caught Charlie Rose's interview with Arne Duncan, our new Educational Secretary from Chicago School District?)

Ahh the weekend. I will take in a movie with my sister & Father, however, Pop's choice is not exactly what I would have choose, so, if anything, a fond memory for us all. Something for Sis & I to laugh about for years too.
Have a beautiful weekend also!

My, my but aren't you an early bird! I'm glad you are feeling better. We are having rain here finally after many, many months of dry. If it weren't 40 degrees I might be dancing in it. Enjoy your weekend.

Ji English Sheperd- you know the good things in life are there right under your nose. Nobody has to show these things to you. If only we had such sparkling instincts.

LV: I am here, taking a deep breath, as you recommended, by your wintry looking ocean.

I love your writing, you have more wisdom and intellect than I could ever aspire to.

You are an inspiration and a treasure, (and you write impeccable Italian!) have a wonderful weekend!

(Bytheway, who is Scarlett, whom I remind you of?!) xx

You have a good one too. I replied to your frustrated comments with wordy apologies, my replies to comments feel like I'm cheating the blogosphere rules, using the form as a chat space. I tend to ramble on pouring my heart in my answers, and taking up a lot of comment space! But that's the way I am.

I did read your "rules" post and even commented it (I hope, otherwise it IS a Blogger conspiravy). Nel mio piccolo, I too have a couple followers that never stop to say hi, e come dici tu, m'innervosisce.

Hey, what's the fun of shopping if you get to sit in the parking lot? Can't you just tag along and back-seat drive the shopping cart?
Un abbraccio Ele/Lola
PS: congratulations on your award!

Bursitis? Hmmm, I'm going to have to look that one up on the web. Will it go away? I do hope so, for your sake!

Rosaria, this is a response I wrote to you on my page - it became lengthy and in case you did not find it to read in the future I have copied it here.

I hope you are resting up...You haven' got blogger's elbow have you??? I made that up but I actually have a blogger's arm. My deltoid muscles are constantly sore from too much typing and scrolling...

Hello again Rosaria, I value your words.

This daughter, my baby, is now almost 19!!!!
But I have kept samples of all of my 4 children's works. I made the 3 older kids a 21st scrap book of their life stories.

In addition for my parents 50th wedding anniversary, quite a few years ago now, I made a Blessing Book where I asked all the members of the family and their children to contribute letters, notes, drawings, memories and appreciations for our parents, (and their grandparents.) The book has been so well thumbed by my parents that it began to fall apart - and that I think is a good indication of its value to them.
My Mum came out of the living room at one point when I first gave it to them and said, "Your Father has a tear in his eye..."
Mum calls it 'that Blessed Book' as a joke as it has the power to bring out emotions in all who read it - and she showed it to all her friends! My mother is very gentle, unassuming and selfless, and I think that she felt she could share her family's love and gratitude this way without appearing too boastful. I am so glad they have had this pleasure - far better to give them the thank-yous in person than wait for the eulogies.
Happy Days

So, the weekend is over for me. Twas interesting - to say the least. A few arguments with the kiddies, a bit of non-necessity retail therapy, then dodging the 'evil eye looks' from the kiddy who was holding a grudge from the earlier argument, a bit more therapy - this time in the form of a movie (with your new friend Alison)and then bed with a good book and ear plugs so I could not hear the bemoaning of the kiddy who was getting her therapy by listening to rather obnoxious music. All in all a fine weekend. And yours - How did it go?

Today I took advantage of a rare gift: the gift of leisure. I stayed in my jammies 'til noon and watched t.v. and lazed in and out of sleep. It was marvelous!! (Then I got myself in gear and cleaned house for a couple of hours!)

Today felt good. I hope your day felt good too!
