Do you wonder?

Why anyone would get this sign made?
Why we write to no one in particular?
Why we vote and nothing really changes?
What will we remember of today?
What if nothing happens?
What if something happens and I don't know about it?

What is the answer that is blowing in the wind?

I think when people vote and use their voices something always happens...even if it's a ripple effect.

It may seem futile at times, but we can't give up.

So funny! It must have been someone with a wonderful sense of humor that lived with a dramatic wife! Too many happenings in his life...and he got tired of hearing about it. And he had a quiet day...and enjoyed it. So, with tongue in cheek, he had this sign made to commemorate a quiet do nothing day. Hope he smelled the roses...ha!
Thanks for a fun post!

Something definitely happened! Probably not what the person who put up the sign wanted to happen.
I wonder about your election, too.

I laughed when I saw this because I'm weird and I probably would put something dumb like that up! Most days I want a sign that says: "Thank goodness, nothing happened here"

The purpose of the sign was to evoke a laugh.. just as surely as your reason for posting it. :)

Oh yes, who decides what is so important and what isn't. I bet somebody had a pleasant surprise or a great birthday gift on that day. Or maybe somebody wonderful was born on that day. Oh well, I am too serious huh?

the answer is blowing in the wind'

love that song

have a great day!

Haha...that is one great sign!
I can't think any more than that right now...it's the end of the day.
But I would have to agree with "yaya" and say I would need the same type of sign:)

Upon hearing Dylan signing that song in the Vatican, John Paul II said:"Only God can blow the answer". I guess he had not understood the message.

I like the sign.

Who defines right or wrong... this person obviously thought it was brilliant creation. Captivating!!

Apparently nothing has happened at that site since 1897 either. Other than your photo, that is ;)

Good questionsd!

Nobody robbed a liquor store on the lower part of town
Nobody OD'ed, nobody burned a single buildin' down
Nobody fired a shot in anger, nobody had to die in vain
We sure could use a little good news today.

~ Anne Murray, "Little Good News"

When "nothing" is good news, just as on that marker.

Until the politicians have to fill it up with something; something that may be far worse than nothing.

Lord, have mercy.

My husband and I are watching the election results as I write this. We are a mixed marriage...he's red and I am blue. We are cheering on different candidates. I'm just so glad that the attack ads will be over for a while and I will stop getting those annoying phone calls from Chris Dudley. Let that blowing wind clear out all the bad smell from that election rhetoric!

I always wonder about all the brass signs all over the world...a light footprint is really much nicer...

Your questions make me smile.

I voted too, and I thought that surely, if the women running my polling place ran the country, we'd be in great shape.

The sign is pretty, and it makes people smile. Making people smile is a pretty good happening, I say. :)

I loved the sign, I have to say. Thanks for such a thought-provoking post, especially the image.

Greetings from London.

They are probably a lot of answers blowing in the wind.

I can't see the poster, but, yes, the state of our election most disconcerting. Should be interesting.

so many questions?!?!?!?! and hubby took a picture of a sign in this tiny forgotten little town that said "if the floor is wet, it's raining"

Hahaha! This makes me laugh out loud. It's sorta like no news is good news...we can be happy that nothing happened worthy of the media's attention :)

Quite the philosophical post, Ms. Rosaria! I voted ... hope something, anything happens!

The sign is so funny, actually refreshing! I could use a few days with nothing happening. As for the election, I wasn't surprised. Same ole, same ole!

Love the sign, I am less thrilled with the elections there.
We've heard about it through the news. Does anything ever really change?

What an interesting sign. Things that make you go Hmm. Even if nothing happened...Nothing is something. :-)

Thanks for visiting my blog. Do hope you will call again. This is a return visit - and I find your question most interesting. How do they possibly know that nothing happened there? Some years ago my late father in law found a four thousand year old axe head in one of our fields when it was ploughed. I like to think that when he picked it up it was the first hand to hold it since Neolithic times - of course I shall never know - but man has been around for a very long time and as we stand on the ground we have no way of knowing what happened there - a battle, a lover's meeting, a child born - gosh that is what makes life so interesting. Nice to meet you.

I have seen that sign posted on someone's home. It gave me a laugh...one of those palatial modern mansions.

Good questions? Where are the answers?
