Is Blogging a true regimen?

1.How long have you been blogging and do you blog regularly or occasionally?
2.Do you make yourself blog even if you don't feel like it?
3.What big lessons have you learned from blogging?
4.Is blogging worth your time and energy?
5.If you were not blogging what would you be doing?

My answers:
1. I began five years ago. I average one or two posts a week for each of my four active blogs.
2. I write when I want to.
3. I've learned that most people are generous, kind, sweet, talented and eager to share.
4. Definitely!
5. I would volunteer more.

Do you participate in contests, theme writing, memes, or other group writing activities and what have been the challenges and rewards in these activities?

1. 've been blogging for almost two years (in January), and I have two active blogs. One of them is always brief and is meant for the high points of the day; the other meanders.
2. In the beginning I wrote every day on the meandering blog (which was the first one). Now, I write every other day, on average, on one or the other.
3. Blogging makes me pay more attention to whatever is going on throughout the day. It brings me into the present. I learn from what others write -- not specifics so much as attitudes, approaches to life.
4. Blogging would be worth my time and energy if nobody at all read what I write. An introvert, I don't enjoy chatting, but I love putting thoughts into written words.
5. Some way or other, I would still be writing, but I might be a better cook and/or gardener.

I don't participate in any contests -- not interested in being competitive. I blog because I enjoy it. I am part of a church group of 10 or so that writes daily devotions. It's a liberal congregation and we write what we think, doubt and all.

2.Do you make yourself blog even if you don't feel like it?
I don't write if I don't feel like it.
3.What big lessons have you learned from blogging?
There is another world out there, one I enjoy participating in.
4.Is blogging worth your time and energy?
Absolutely.
5.If you were not blogging what would you be doing?

1) I started in Nov. 2010, so almost two years.

2) Yes, sometimes.

3) I've learned that there's a very sophisticated group of older people out there, and it's fun to trade stories, share concerns, discuss issues, and communicate our concerns with one another.

4) Yes.

5) Honestly, I'd waste more time watching TV, reading mysteries and puttering around the yard.

4 years///5 times a week...used to be 7

tricky question but i will say yes....i write daily whether i feel like it or not...it is exercise...

there are lots of great people out there...that are not always who they seem...smiles....but most of them are really nice.

yes

in a negative light, wasting time...on a positive side, probably playing with legos

1. over 10 years (before that I jounaled)
2. daily unless something personal keeps me away
3. blogging or journaling is psychologically healthy. The perk with blogging is the comments.
4. Definitely
5. Writing stories, sketching, photography, knitting, making pottery (but I still do these things too when time permits)

1. I started blogging in the spring of 2007, and grew my writing to 7 different blogs, in two languages.
My writing has varied; usually now twice a week, on one blog.
2. I don't write if I don't feel like it.
3. I have learned that there are wonderful people all over the place, who will share themselves and their ideas honestly, if I do the same.
4. I think blogging is absolutely worth my time and energy. But it is limited to when I have energy. Sadly.
5. If I were not blogging, I would be reading and writing something, somewhere else.

Thanks for this, Rosaria.

I've been blogging for a little over 3 years..I posted nearly every day. Now I had cut back to 5 days a week until I found out I might be moving. I'll probably only be posting 3 or 4 times a week until after the move.
I might have a cleaner house if I wasn't blogging!

1) About 2 years.
2) No.
3) Taking photographs.
4) I do it because it's relaxing.
5) Taking a nap!

I participate in some contests but not all....the chances of winning are zero.

Thanks for sharing. Have a great week. Hugs.

1.Since 2008
2.I only blog when I have something to say.
3.I have learned that I have a lot in common with more people than I could have imagined.
4.It is worth my time as long as I don’t spend more than a half hour a day on it.
5.I am a painter, so I would be painting. But blogging fills a writing need in me that I have always had but never pursued.

2. I write about three times a month.
3. I like the virtual friendships I've established, the feeling of community.
4. Yes! Keeps me honest, keeps me writing.
5. I'd be chastising myself for not writing, so I'd be writing in some other part of my life.

1. I started my blog at the end of October 2010, so I'm nearly at the two year mark.

2. At first, I committed to blogging at least two to three times a week. Lately, I haven't been blogging as much due to some medical issues that have been time-consuming and also because I'm working on two books. After decades of working on deadline as a journalist and book author, I promised myself the freedom to write only when I feel like it -- but I miss blogging when I stay away too long!

3. Blogging has taught me to trust my own voice and pay attention to feelings and experiences and sensations all around me. I have also come to enjoy the wisdom of other bloggers and their wonderful friendships.

4. Blogging is definitely worth my time and energy! It has opened up a whole new world to me.

5. If I weren't blogging, I'd probably be writing queries to magazines for article assignments or getting my books written faster...but I wouldn't think of giving it up!

I've been blogging for over two years now.

I go through spurts where I post more frequently. But lately it has been more than a week between posts.

I've remembered that I love to write. I love finding just the right word to express my feelings. I love putting a simple story down on paper that others can relate to.

I have enjoyed the cyber community. Since I retired I don't have the same social contacts, so my cyber friends have given me a touchstone to others in retired life.

If I were not blogging, I'd probably be reading. I'd like to say that I'd be volunteering a a women's shelter or feeding the homeless, but that would require me to leave my house and I really am a recluse.

I just enjoy blogging as a way of keeping my memories alive for me and my family. Although over the years it has grown to be so much more than that, with all the friends I have made, along the way.

I am glad that blogging had taken me your way Rosaria.

I've been blogging for six years - the first three on a South African blogsite - but I didn't find enough kindred spirits there. At first, I blogged madly - sometimes 3 times a day - which once got me the stat of being 'most popular blog' for about an hour one day. I had a lot I burned to say in those days. Now, I feel I've mostly said what I needed to say over thousands of posts, so I'm more of a blog-reader these days. I love the blogspot people - lovely, kind, helpful, empathetic. I'm also an introvert with few friends, so I love the written interaction with bloggers. Maybe I would have a cleaner house if I didn't blog but I doubt it. I would read/garden/knit/sew more and probably hope to find a part-time job. Reading all the talented bloggers out there has put me off trying to start my novel. Everyone writes better than me.

Love your answers, so positive! I do occasionally participate in hops/fests/memes/etc., and I've gained a lot of friendships from them, so I'll never regret it.

Hello Rosaria, I had been on and off but I am taking in my blog private for a "real" break. Hope to see you again soon. It is not a goodbye. My email is zoneout415 at gmail dot com.

1. About 1 1/2 years and now, I have two active blogs
2. I started off daily but now I generally blog weekly on both blogs.
3. I have learnt much about other places in the world and I have seen places I will never travel to through other peoples eyes.
4. I certainly hope so by the number of comments I receive. It is also sort of a dairy of my life in the Charente that I can look back on.
5. Working in the garden, cooking, reading or trying even harder to learn French!

I've been at it for a year and a half now and post when the spirit moves me. I wouldn't be me, which I strive to be in my blog, if I posted when I didn't want to. I have learned so much, from poetry and music to even yes, some politics. Mostly, I've learned that friendships can indeed be made virtually. Thus, it is definitely worth my time, and if I was not blogging, I would be running around in circles.
Very interesting to see what everyone thinks here Rosaria!
