Disney knew something we forgot.

In this hamlet, just as in Disney's movies, when Snow White fed birds on her shoulders, received all kinds of animals in her garden,
people feed wild animals.
Raccoon, squirrels, birds, deer.
A deer or raccoon may show up at our doorsteps any time of the day.
When I call my cat in for the night, other animals might respond and follow me in.

Here, two visiting partridges looking for fresh food
on a new concrete pad.

I bet Newkie will share her breakfast with them.

I gather that you enjoy these visits. When I was young, a huge variety of birds used to visit my house. In the last 15 years of everything turning into a concrete jungle, the visits has stopped. I miss the that feeling.

Those look like quail. I know that the hummingbird that resides in my area would follow me if he could. Thanks for sharing.

are you sure they wont be her breakfast? smiles...pretty cool...we have seven deer that live in our back yard, sleeping at night...saw a possum last night, rabbits....not too many coons some around but...very cool to be among the animals...

I love our wild critter visitors, our skunk, possums and the birds. We put out water in the birdbath and 3 low bowls of water for the critters.
One large low saucer attracts insects who drink and bath from it as they hover above.

We have partridges and pheasants as well as songbirds visiting our garden. They become so tame that they bring their chicks to share the chickens' food. It's such a pleasure to see them and know they feel safe with us.

The only critters I ever see around here are wild turkeys. Sometimes as many as twenty! I don't feed them though, because I've been told their droppings are the size of a large dog's!

I seldom photo our critters, deer, coons, all birds and the foxes (my faves) Right now construction disturbs them...

Newkie could be stalking. Head down. Tail possibly swishing side to side. . . good birdies. mmmmm.

Rocky The Cat (I rescued him in Bend, had to surrender him because he 'caught' so many birds and deposited them on neighbors doorsteps) would have gobbled those birds right up!!!
Not very Disney like .......... I've been so preoccupied with my sister I haven't had a chance to catch up with my favorite bloggers!!!!

G'day Rosaria. Great photo. I love the partridges. When we owned the farm some of our native animals would pay us a visit from time to time, it was always a joy to see them. Now that we live in the town, we don't see that anymore, which is a shame. We still have some beautiful birds that come and bop around in the garden and some that are nectar eaters and feed from the Australian natives bushes we have planted, but that's about all. Take care. A wild boar came visiting the other morning, and followed Lester for several metres, but not in an aggressive way, more like a couple of living beings heading in the same direction for a fraction of time. I love having these wild animals around, but would prefer that boar not to trundle on behind me at all!

I see plenty of beggars every day but rarely do they have wings and often they are too timid to approach the cat, who would be generous if asked.

I think that's a stalk not a walk..too
you do resemble Snow wHITE..i SEE IT NOW

Yeah, it looks like a stalk!
And the birds may be quail after all.
My daughter tells me about birds and sounds they make; and I wonder how I missed all that.

No, Suz, I do not feel comfortable around animals. Newkie is training me tough.

Parenthetically, I love the gorgeous red pot in the photo!

We're a certified wildlife habitat in our quarter acre of suburbia. I love the creatures on our property - except for the tree rodents, who get a humane trap on our porch and a free trip to a park two miles away.

We get a lot of animal visitors too. My favorites are the quail. When they first hatch they are not much bigger than a miniture marshmallow. We also get visited by skunks...not quite as enjoyable!

The picture of Newkie is wonderful. But, with Brian, I'm wondering if she is going to share them for breakfast.

That's exactly what I'd love.. lucky you. :)
