Before this week...

Do you talk about your life in terms of markers? Before I got married, before I moved to Florida, before my knees' operation......................................................................?

There are about a dozen such big markers in life and I just experienced a new one right here as a blogger:

Becoming The Blog of Note for Jan. 17, 2011!

Before the blog of note I had 273 followers. After, 393, at the end of day two. Unreal!
I still have no idea how this happened and what it might lead to.

Welcome, everyone. I hope you leave a comment now and then, and allow me to visit you as well.

You do have an exceptional blog, Rosaria, and I can see why you have so many followers. I have
221, as of this writing, but it's taken 16 months. I spend at least ten hours a day on this computer which I shouldn't...doctor says I need to elevate my feet more...and, right now, I need to think about pack for my move, but this has become an addiction...and I so love reading everyone's blogs and commenting as well. It's become an essential part of my life.

Yours is the second "Blog of note" I have seen Rosaria. It is something the PEOPLE who run blogspot choose. So it was not a random computer selection.

After reading you and looking at your pictures for about a year now I can see why. Just keep distributing your common sense and forever youngness.

I'm glad for you getting the exposure, Rosaria. Now, to your question!

Markers in my life - I see my life in sections. I was going to say I don't refer to them but I don't think that is an honest answer. I see clear changes, hopefully advances. Let this change be an advance for you.

Good luck keeping up with the crowd now... sometime it is just easier with a handful of followers. Or so it would seem. I like the photo on the blog today, it looks like it could have been my dad just towards the end. I surely do miss him... funny, how the people in your lives seem so solid and "there" and then all of a sudden, they are not.
Well, congrats on "blog of note"eriety.... I wish you the best and will indeed be by to see what you're up to. I will like from me to you... just for fun...

I see these thingies here and there on blogs and understand neither the source, nor significance of such blogger awards, but it does deserve congratulations...picking up followers would be worth the honor...I had not thought of it before, but yes, markers....a good reference for life...

Hi folks, nice to see so many new people and the warmth and patience of my old friends. First, a big thank you and welcome to the new folks.

I may not get to each of you right away; but, I promise to try.

Hilary, I'm already feeling both elated and swamped at the same time. Sharing this with you feels great; looking at keeping up with so many feels so overwhelming.

Shopgirl, right back at you.

Shadow, it's wonderful and humbling, and scary too.

Sooz, so good to see you.

Carmen, the world is full of wonderful writers and artists and creators. We all inhabit our little world. Yes, it feels great to receive a nod.

Walking Man, you don't think it was random? My, this is going to go to my head soon, like great wine or...Thanks!

Donna, oh I'm gushing! Thanks.

Sarah Lulu, yes, we go back a long time, indeed. We have shared many markers too. Have you moved yet?

Miss Sadie/ Bear doesn't need to wake up; but do leave him a bit of salmon should he wake; tell him this is from the Rogue, a wild river not unlike the many ones he knows about. Thanks for the visit.

Paul-how good to see you! We too have shared many markers. Without your constant feedback on my memoir blog, I wouldn't have had the strength to carry on. I owe you big time!

W-W, an advance is a tall order, dearest friend. I'm almost seventy, my knees are giving me trouble, my stomach complains often, and now, this week, my balance, they call it vertigo is upon me. Advance, maybe tomorrow. Today, just remain steady on my feet, physically and in every other way. You know this feels quite strange, actually. Now I understand how/why my daughter and hubby are going underground, not sharing much anymore, not to keep us away from them-who are beginning to get international recognition and monetary rewards-but to keep working in solitude, in the same spirit they have been working. Peace to you. Thank you for your generosity and friendship.

Eva-- As they say at the Academy, I'm not deserving, as the people I know are so much more deserving than I am, but hey, I got noticed, and I'm stunned. Thanks for your friendship and unwavering support.

Brian--After a while, we do become family as we follow each other's life stories, fretting over absences, joyful about each other's success. Thanks for your friendship, dear friend.

Sixtyfive, I'm not sure if my comment made it to your site, I'm new at this blogging stuff, but will try on this site. Husband Ron and I live in the Pacific NW (as far away from where you are as we could be in the US, except for Hawaii or Alaska). We too walk the beaches, (Ron rolls in his wheelchair where MS has put him), I walk (slower than years past, but still manage). I'm joining your 65 club this year, Ron joined last year. We retired here seven years ago after 20 years of working in New Mexico, California before that. Look forward to reading of your adventures, hope you can check out my blog (short stories, and general everyday living).

Blogging becomes a bit of a marker for most serious bloggers I imagine Rosaria. In the blogosphere we share births, deaths and marriages all over the world.

To me it's amazing, rather like sealing a note in a bottle and wondering who will find your bottle washed up on some shoreline somewhere.

For all of us there are six degrees of separation. Blogging is a great connector.

I'm new to the blog world! I have 0 followers at this point, but I hope to change that once I get a few more posts up! What's your secret to getting so many followers to check out your blog (other than now being recognized as a "blog of note") CONGRATS! That's great and I do enjoy your very positive attitude that you seem to have throughout many of your posts.

I do not know about Blogs of Note. Is it Blogger that decides? Who is the jury? I’d like to see a list of blogs of notes – must be quite interesting. In any case it is an honor, so I congratulate you and your blog heartily.
