The Northwest coastal weather this time of the year is rainy the majority of the time. Light, soft rain, and hurricane force torrential squalls, all in the same hour.
We wear rain gear all the time, on short and long trips.
We don't use umbrellas. We wear Gore-Tex, a specialty material designed to keep us dry.
To travel anywhere, we cross rivers, creeks, forests and hamlets. Our roads are one-laners, curvy and blind, often crossed by deer, elk, turkeys and a variety of other animals.
After a good storm, be prepared to stop and wait for transportation workers to clear roads of fallen trees and other debris.
No wonder that we have so many micro-breweries to help us cope with cabin fever.

I dunno if you've been back to my blog since you asked me to add the Followers gadget. I did, for a few days, but I hadn't had one listed on my sidebar since it first became a gadget we could add. It feels too much like high school to me, so I took it back down again. Carrying an umbrella prevents one from seeing so much so the Gore Tex is a much better idea!
i so love rainy weather. grew up in a place with a winter rainfall. days and days of drizzle rain... i wonder if i'd still love it now.

Sounds incredible! Something so inspiring about it. Would love to live in the clime just for a while, maybe set a novel's location in such a place.
And I just have to say, I'm hearing Karen Carpenter, singing that song. She was like no other, and I wish we'd had so much more music from her.
I used to live in Portland, Oregon. I really don't miss the rain from October through to June!! The summers were pretty fabulous though. And you need the water to make the countryside so beautifully green.

I love the shot with the water droplets. I finally bought a gore-tex bag to use for a purse because the one I had been using absorbed water so badly.
I nearly always take an umbrella with me, as a sort of insurance against it raining. It doesn't always work.

We have snow to contend with. Slippery and icy. No walks the last two days because I worry about a fall. Just what we would need right now..
I like the rain, but the coast certainly could get a bit glum in the winter if you lived there. But I would still live there.

Beautiful pictres, Rosaria. You are getting more rain than we are, I suspect but we've had plenty the last few days. I've got some good ocean photos that I'll post today. But civilizatio, good restaurants and jazz is only about fifteen miles away snd,so far, the rainy weather hasn't interfered with that.

WOW! You have outdone yourself with these stunning photos. Hang the photos 2-4 on your wall or a gallery. The last one looks more like a painting. Photography is the best coping mechanism. I’m all for Gortex over umbrellas too.

I loved your photos. I somewhat perversely love photos taken under somewhat adverse circumstances. The reflective one is nice, but I love the one where raindrops appear to be on the lens.
One of my dream photo is to catch a landscape in a macro drop of water or at least a very small amount of water like a puddle or birdbath, etc.
Despite all the wet I still love it here.
We have been weathering through a series of storms here in Southern California and they've been intense. I love that last shot! And the micro breweries sound like a fine way to make it through a rainy day, or night.
