Seize the Day!

When did you ever look good eating with such abandon?
Remember when your mother stopped you from taking her picture if she didn't have her make-up on?

Did we become less vain?
Or did we become more photogenic?
Perhaps our cameras are more forgiving.

Heck if I know!

Here, on a clear day in Port Orford, we are having lunch at Redfish.  Steamed clams and toast points. I believe that look was: "Ah, so good not to have to cook today!"
Yeah!
Going out to a great place like Redfish lifts my spirits.  A good glass of wine does the same thing.
I'm eating all the food I like.
Next year, I might be allergic to clams.
I'm seizing the day, while I still can.

And do they serve red fish at Red Fish? I do believe red fish is my favorite, but there was a time in Texas when it was overfished and no longer available. You look glorious in your dining pleasure! Wishing you many more days just like this one. (Funny. The word verification is "redsmush" -- LOL!)

That look says..."I love you dear but touch my, or even reach for my plate and you are going to be toast."

Oh, yes, yes, yes Rosaria!
I'll have what you're having! :-)

I'd eat clams, mussels, crabs, lobster anyday without worrying how I look.

No to oysters though. It upsets my tummy!

I'm noticing as I age, various allergies are cropping up ... hopefully none will be related to shellfish.

I have a pork tenderloin marinating for dinner this evening. Cooking on our grill. Yum.

You're making my mouth water with those beautiful clams...to heck with being worried about photos. It's all about the food.

Great photo. You look well, interested, interesting, and quite happy. Make-up can give you a face that reflects the positive life you have lived. Keep on enjoying great moments such as these.

Sounds like the perfect day!

I think many people do not like having pictures taken and I say that is a wonderful way to preserve a great memory...go for it!

I love that photo of you! It's an authentic moment from your life -- and so much more precious than one that is posed! And it's so great that you're savoring your food and the moment!

That's the spirit, Rosaria! You are so lucky that you even get clams! I think there is nothing like a great meal eaten with family or friends.

Redfish....there used to be one here....loved the fried pickles....not much of a fish eater. You look like it tasted so good and you are in the moment. Sometimes we forget to forget the rest of the stuff and enjoy NOW. Hugs.

Eating out should be fun and eat what you want. When the food is really good it is such a pleasure. When it is bad I regret going to the place. The meal you are eating looks good.

What I see is someone grabbing the day, wringing all the good out of it to be enjoyed and being comfortable with yourself You go girl.

Great pic and your dinner looks divine! Yes, seize the day, dear friend, because you never know when you might have a 15 foot wall of water headed your way! Louisiana is flooding as we speak!

It looks delish and so do you! I'm glad you had a fun day and aren't camera shy...those days are over for me..who really cares anyway? I'd rather have the memory and the fun captured.

Oh, my, Rosaria, a girl so after my own heart. I feel like I must celebrate everything...after all, each celebraton could be my last! I must go open a bottle of wine to toast you, my friend. Cheers!

You look wonderful, by the way.

You can have my share of the clams. I quit eating them when I first discovered they were live - and very ugly - creatures. I was probably 6 or 7.

G'day Rosaria. Great photo. Sounds like you had a wonderful time and enjoyed yourself. That's what it's all about, good on you. Take care. Liz...

I like the photo; you look beautiful and you look as if you're enjoying yourself. Did you ever look around in a restaurant and see dissatisfied looks on the faces of half the patrons? They don't seem to be directed at the food, maybe at the eating companion, maybe at life in general? There's none of that in your face here.

Great photo. Yes, indeed. Carpe diem.

thanks, everyone! Redfish is named for the Redfish Marine Reserve right outside that picture window. The Redfish is a form of ling cod, a special fish of these vicinities, and yes, it is being served here.

And yes, as Marguerite pointed out, we could be flooded, windswept, and tsunami buried any minute on this coast. Most of you have experienced some horrific act of nature where you live.

Let's enjoy the day while we have it.

Great pic! I love eating and I don't think people should hide it. If I truly enjoy something I'm eating, I will lick and smack my lips, cause' it's just so good. The last thing I think about is what I look like.

Cheers sweetie!
