Our next car? Not!

Saw this at the Cranberry Festival in Bandon.

Can you believe the gumptions of this owner?  Right here, among environmentalists, folks who  hug trees, burn trash with permits, are the first to establish bottle recycling,  set up Marine Reserves voluntarily,  set up fishing quotas and land management guidelines.

A Wilderness Assault Vehicle at a Cranberry Festival?

Seriously, he is lucky to leave the parking lot with his scalp on!

I'll bet he's a real delight to know.. geesh. Some folks just need to be noticed.. and he sure was.

He's probably strutting around like the king of the hill.

Is that a personal vehicle or a corporation?

This is America where we all have certain freedoms. Not to be 'scalped' because we differ with another's lifestyle is one of them.

What is Wilderness Assault? A hunter, or someone who dislikes wilderness?

Whatever that term means, Patricia said it right.

Cranberry Festival sounds fun!

Respecting people's choice and freedom is one thing, but to deliberately show up at this sort of fair in this sort of vehicle...that is passive aggression in the very least.

Miss you,
Mervat.

This guy, or was it a woman, must have a virility problem. Send him to Cheri's psychiatrist.

What is that car? What is that on the roof?
I've never seen anything like that before. At first I thought it was some kind of camper van.... but they look like missiles on the roof.
That's strange!

I love what you share here Rosaria xx

Seriously weird! Frightening.

I'm surprised the police or military didn't check out this individual.

I wonder if this person is a NRA member who has just taken things up a notch?

Let's hope it's just a tongue in cheek joke -- a spot of irony.

The cheek of it! Did he have his tyres slashed? You know leprechauns still exist. :-)

Greetings from London.

Gee, I wonder what he is compensating for?

I agree with Brian, he just wanted to be noticed; unfortunately, it was for the wrong reason.

He actually painted that statement in Pink! I think maybe he needs a little therapy or something....can't imagine what he plans on assaulting!

I would probably drive one if I had it?

Oh, I don't know. Looks like he has a sense of humor. Charge him an extra eight bucks per for gas and send him on his way.

It looks extremely unappealing, and rather scary! It suddenly reminded me a bit of a vehcile I saw the other day with decorative hangman's noose hanging from the mirror (?!)

I agree with you but it looked suspiciously like some ofthe ambulance rides I have taken recently where I wasn't sure if the gurney and me were going sideways, tip over, or what, not to mention riding backwards looking out the back doors was not easy on the stomach.

Maybe it's also an armored vehicle. In which case, he's safe.

RNSANE said...

I am surprised but I wonder if, perhaps, that is this person's home as well as mode of travel. Strange, though!!

Most of the people in Bandon - where the Cranberry Festival is held - are hunters. It was not meant to offend or be any type of political commentary. It is simply meant to be a fun project transforming an old city truck into an RV. The comments on here crack me up because if you met the owners you would find that they are kind, active members of the community. Next time you try to pass judgment, maybe try to know the full story.

As an individual who has seen inside, this is an old truck that was not being used that two men took and used recycled items to make it an R.V. to go hunting in. They made it on their own and used items they either salvaged or made themselves as opposed to buying a brand new vehicle that took much more energy and resources to make. I understand the name can be deceiving but it is just a personal vehicle for hunting purposes. I have read Omnivores Dilemma and have come to find out that we cannot question hunting for one's own food unless we are willing to question the factory farms much of our meat we buy at the grocers comes from.

Finally the last two comments shed some light on this! Calm down people! The guys that built and use this are just having a little fun. They are avid hunters that take it on trips to the other side of the state. They converted it into an RV so they dont have to sleep in tents. Also, one of the guys is a cranberry grower, just having a little fun at the cranberry festival! I'm sure everyone that commented on this would really love the little hunting truck that they pull behind this RV as well :)
