Summer, visitors, yard work and the Comforters Musical Tour.

It's summer in the Northwest. Here and there native flowers peek out and welcome visitors.  Our house is called The Welcome Inn, an apt description, connecting it to the first time my daughter  Pia and Jason , her husband, visited and brought the plaque to name it.

They will not spend much time with us this summer: they are launching their new album and are getting ready for their music tour.  The Comforters, as they are called, will be on the West coast in different venues promoting their new c.d. Do give a listen, if you have time.

Their Link:The Comforters

As for us, we are hosting the rest of the family at different times.  We'll gear up to fish, canoe, pick fresh veggies, cook, visit beaches and stunning vistas.

If you are traveling this way, do stop by!

I went to their site, but couldn't find a place to listen to the album.

I'll check out their site, Rosaria.

And re: your comment on my post about the "winners" of Patricia Stoltey's book: you're right about critics. Blogger friends aren't necessarily the best either. We just have to find someone or something (e.g. a group or maybe even a great book on writing) to give us the feedback we need.

Welcome Inn. Sounds lovely. If I were naming my place, I'd call it The Haven, which is what I want it to be for visitors.

Love your photographs.

"Welcome Inn" - I love it! What a wonderful way to think of a home, as something approachable, warm, open, and inviting. Here in LA too many people have "Keep Out" door mats (which I definitely do not count as a "Welcome Mat") and it's so sad.

I hope your home always reflects your heart.

Eva, your link should have a widget/list of ten songs/samples on the right. At the top left of the widget, there is a button called sound cloud. Push that, wait a tad, and voila', one song after the other.

Or, go to their blog, and listen to her favorite song.

One of their songs I Want To Rock was featured in an award winning independent short-film called A Girl Called Pink. If you have a chance to see this short, the music adds a great deal to the mood of the story.

Of course, we will run over to the closest venue and spend an evening listening to them and act like the proud parents we are.

p.s. she is the same one recuperating from surgery! Nothing stops her! They are too peas in a pod, the two of them, always writing and composing.

Thanks for your interest.

Ann--The Haven sounds great!

Brian--they are your age, writing about things you might connect with.

Phoenix--they will be down in your neck of the woods in August. I do hope you check them out.

It's flat out sweltering here although this morning was decidedly less hot. don't know what that means exactly besides pleasant, but it warmed up to hot quickly. Outdoor stuff here has to be done before or after summer.

I listened to a couple of songs, they were cute and lovely. They made me smile.

On the front gate of our home, there is a sign "cuidado con el perro". Guess we are not so friendly :)

Your home sounds so lovely. A haven.

I am turning Cat Powers off to give The Comforters a listen. Surgery and then on the road. One resiliant woman! Plus, devoted sidekick, of course.

Your home sounds wonderfully inviting. Summer is passing so quickly though. It is an odd thing, time, these days.

I went to the Comforters’ site and found the music very engaging. Her voice is quite nice too with a lovely timber quality. Thanks for coming to my blog and posting – I enjoy reading your comments. No, I do not celebrate the 14th here as I am the only French around! I might drink a glass of Pernod tonight then eat some goat cheese or Brie on a French baguette…. I used to go to the French Consulate in Atlanta, but I think they are not inviting French people anymore – must be a budget cut. I am happy watching the Tour de France though.

I'm trying to catch up on posts I've missed, Rosaria....the Welcome Inn...sounds like the perfect name for your home. Like your daughter's music very much. I see they will be in Mountain View in late August. I've put the gig in my date book since I should be around. I'll plan to go to the Red Rock to see them and have a bite to eat and a cappucino.

Please understand:
I have so many followers, I run out of time notifying people awards at times....

thus, I tell you: please look at all of my awards posts, pick 5 awards you love most among my April, May, June, or July post, and pass these awards to 1 to 10 of your blogging friends, or keep them yourself...ignore if you dislike them.

Thank you for the friendship!

Pia's gentle and smooth voice in acoustic guitar ballads comforted me in a rainy summer afternoon and accompanied me while creating some new jewelry.

I think it's wonderful to live doing what one loves. Pia and Jason certainly have a great passion for music, a passion that exceeds the personal affirmation and blossoms in their own recording studio - Big Timbre Studio.
One little curiosity: their favorite fun description comes from Belgrade, a city that lies about 80 miles far from where I was born.

So, Oregon is the place where the seed of their creativity has grown into a beautiful plant called the Comforters? My preferred song is "Would it break your heart?" and I like very much their Two Piece Orchestra album cover. Congratulations for their second album!
