This town
will celebrate Christmas
through Giving Trees, baskets give-a-way, can drives
reminding
residents to shop locally
the hardware shop, the movie theater
the art council, restaurants
the flower shop
the grocery store.
We'll all do our part to share what we have
to help and to care.
I thought about
what to give my grandchild
who needs nothing.
So, I did one thing just for her:
I started a blog to teach her what I know
in Italian.
You may remember that I grew up in Italy.
She is interested in learning Italian
and I can help.
If you too want to learn Italian with J.
hop along and check the new blog.

What a brilliant gift...xv
That is something really special!
Ohhhhh...I so very much DO want to learn Italian! Even before I read 'Eat, Pray, Love'. Thanks so much for extending the invitation!
And what a creative gift idea for its intended recipient! *applause!*
I like to support our local businesses, as well.
how cool is that...a wonderful gift...and locally i ty to buy, but this year we are making some gifts locally. smiles.
You are so thoughtful...wish those lessons had started BEFORE my two birthday trips but, who knows, I might win the lottery, and go back!
What a good idea. I learnt Italian for 6 months when I was 17! That means I can hardly speak it at all..... but some things have stuck!
Nuts in May

Another blog! And you will be great at it too. You are a great teacher. Thanks for all the kind words you have said about my guest room post. smiles
What a great idea. Lucky grandchild. I have been thinking about this. My oldest grandchild is brain damaged, so I give money. But my other four have so much, I am not anxious to add to their pile of toys and clothes. I am still thinking this one over...
That really IS a gift. A gift that will last her a lifetime and one she can pass on to her children. Beautiful.
You have the absolute best spirit of Christmas ... a season of giving and you are givng your grand daughter a priceless gift.
Ah, now that it is a marvelous gift!! Well done you!
Your Christmas spirit is very moving. Lovely thoughts and a lovely gift.
When I came on I noticed a new blog. I will be checking it out.
I loved how you described how she needs nothing, none of them do.
Love Renee xoxoxo
now that's the right way of giving!
How amazing - something of true value :)
A brilliant gift to Jasmine...one that keeps on giving!
I am amazed at the efforts of your town in a time of great need.
But I am more amazed at the wonderful gift to your daughter, I hope she will know it is a gift which she perhaps will appreciate more in all the tomorrows, than today.
What a great gift idea. You're one special grandma. :)
Sweet friend, this is definitely the time to miss people.
Can I have your home mailing address please. I will delete it.
Love Renee xoxo
I'm going to send this to my granddaughter, Arianna...I'd love her to learn Italian...and I'm going to learn too...thanks so much, what a Christmas Gift!

Splendid idea! How Blessed she is to have you in her life. How lovely of you to share it with us :)
There's nothing you could buy that would have greater value. Beautiful.
The best gifts come for free indeed! :) You're a cool granny! :)
Awesome, I certainly will, thank you Rosaria.
I love that you did this for her! If wasn't working so hard on Mandarin I would follow the new blog, as I belive strongly that being bilingual, at least, is important!
