I'm visiting Portland, to soak up some city life athmosphere, good food, and young vibes. This view is from my hotel room right on the Willamette River. The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry is across the river. Enjoy the walk on the river banks.
Portlans is a bike-friendly place. One can ride everywhere. Or boat.
Portland never fails to offer some new things to experience. I will be posting more pictures in the next few posts, as well as some attempts at cooking vegan meals.
All help is appreciated.
Always fun to see the city sights. Thanks for sharing and I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to Portland since my 30th birthday when some young University of Oregon students, at Eugene, took me to a Frank Zappa concert!! Have a great visit.
ReplyDeleteHope the sun shines for you! Sounds like some fun exploring ahead!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to my home town. I would love to recommend a few sites if you are interested. Are you up for Rose Festival? Or just to visit?
ReplyDeleteYay! We can't afford to take a vacation this year, so I will have one vicariously with yours!
ReplyDeleteLooks very nice :-)

ReplyDeleteAll my vegan books are so old. Probably ingredients no longer good for us.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your trip. I'm enjoying the photos.
I hope you have a wonderful time in that beautiful city.
ReplyDeleteI would like to see Portland one day. :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, i am sitting here in the front row, waiting for The Rosaria Vegan Show to come on. *wink*
Glad you're having fun in the city! It'll re-energize your spirits.
ReplyDeleteI like the energy of downtown Portland, the beautiful little parks, and surprising pieces of art scattered around the landscape. I like it for a few days, and then I like to come home to quiet, peaceful and usually dry eastern Oregon. Enjoy your visit.
ReplyDeleteA visit to the city is inspiring for me. I love smaller town, country life for the most part, but there is definitely an energy about bigger cities that I miss at times. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics! Looks like a fun place! Have fun, cher!
ReplyDeleteI remember being in Portland years ago. A vibrant city with an amazing core.
ReplyDeleteDoes the submarine go with the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry? Or is it visiting from Puget Sound?
Wow! OMSI has changed since I lived there. I can't wait to see more pictures of one of my favorite US cities.
ReplyDeletePortland is BEAUTIFUL!!! And your photos are terrific! Wish I could offer some exciting recipes for Vegan...but mostly I just do very simple stuff...Will look forward to seeing what you've come up with, though! Love, Janine XO
ReplyDeleteJust looking at those photos makes me feel that city is very similar to mine!
ReplyDeleteIt is always good to see places that I have never been.

I like your post on Memorial Day. I’ll go and read your memoirs but I’ll start from the beginning.
ReplyDeleteI copied your quick minestrone soup, it looks yummy. We have herbs in planters in the back yard so I like to add them to my cooking. For some reason this year the oregano has grown better than the others.
When we went to Portland we visited Powell’s City of Books. It is huge. They have both new and second-hand books. I love to go there.
Fun photos! Your Portland is a great city. I visited it years ago and would love to return. Last week I reviewed a fabulous debut novel set there, The Girl Who Fell from the Sky.
ReplyDeleteWe used to walk a lot by the river. Really pleasant city - thanks for sharing your pics!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this walk...
